Challenge the English eloquence with Yola Pioneers cup 2018

The English-Speaking Contest – Yola Pioneers cup 2018, which organized by the Yola Educational Foundation and the Education Newspaper, is a special English language competition for elementary school students in HCMC.
Yola is proud to be a prestigious unit in teaching English for all ages (English for Kids, Elementary English, English for Young Learners, IELTS Preparation and English for Adults) and provides support services (skills courses, study abroad …). YOLA believes that, together with the Education Newspaper, YOLA will create a useful and exciting playground for students to improve their English level with the content of the test based on scientific knowledge, history, social standards, challenge yourself in the round. This is also an opportunity for students to learn from the teachers and friends of schools in the region and win prizes.

CONTEST CONTENTS
ROUND 1:
– Content: Students will take the test in class and at the school. The teacher gave the test to YOLA (Yola collected all test materials and results) and selected 20 students / schools with the highest score to enter the second round.
– Forms: Paper-based and multiple-choice tests.
– The quiz is a 15-question multiple-choice test of grammar and vocabulary around science and social topics and knowledge, and a sentence of 100 words to 200 words on the topic “I’m a Pioneer ”
– Time: 19/11/2018 – 3/12/2018
– Students participating in the first round will receive the YOLA information bag including: YOLA’s brochure, leaflets on incentive programs and ballpoint pens or small notebooks.
ROUND 2:
Content: Students will take the test at the centers of YOLA, 4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing.
– Exam forms:
Group of students from 7 to 9 years old: taking the English exam on the iPad app;
Group of students from 10 to 11 years old: Take the paper test and tell the teacher YOLA. The questions are questions about scientific and social knowledge.
Time: 3/12/2018 – 17/12/2018
Candidates participating in the second round will receive gifts: T-shirts or YOLA water jars
ROUND PROJECT
25 teams will be invited to the preliminary round, on 22 and 23/12/2018
The teams will present a topic of rhetoric before the jury to be selected on the stage in the final round;
FINAL ROUND
Time: 30/12/2018
Group size: 8 groups, 40 students
Content: Performed on the stage with the following two rounds:
Rhetoric – Review (accounting for 70% of the total)
Teams will have 5 minutes to present their projects in English in different ways: presentations, plays, auctions, performances, press conferences … and 5 minutes to the Board of Supervisors Examination and each team will be assigned a review team;
Take the Challenges (30% score)
The teams will be divided into 2 teams, 4 teams, 2 IQ and English skills:
*** IQ CHALLENGE:
There are 20 English IQ questions per turn, 2 groups of players will ring the bell for the right to answer these questions.
*** LIST OF DIALOGUE ONLY:
There are 20 images per turn, two teams will ring the bell to get the right answer from the English definition for that image.
